DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (Day of the Dead) is celebrated in Mexico on Nov 1st & 2nd. It is believed during this time that the spirits of our friends & family who have passed away have divine permission to visit the Earth. Tombs & Altars are decorated w/ flowers, fruits, candles, incense~it is common to bring musicians & have a picnic on the tombs.
DAY OF THE DEAD is a festive celebration & traditions vary according to region, but almost everywhere families migrate to the cementaries to pay their respects-this ritual is a fantastic combination of Mexico's Aztec & Catholic Roots.
~Remember the Dead are never forgotten because once a year they visit the earth to share the fruits and flowers with the living!
