DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (DAY OF THE DEAD) is celebrated in Mexico on Nov 1st & 2nd. It is believed during this time that the spirits of our friends and family who have passed away have divine permission to visit the living and all over Mexico tombs and altars are decorated with flowers, fruits, candles and incense. Day of the Dead is a festive celebration and traditions vary according to region, but almost everywhere families migrate to the cemetaries to pay their respects, it is common to bring musicians and have picnics on the tombs. Remember-the dead are never forgotten because once a year they visit the earth to share the fruits and flowers with the living!
